This one was just too crazytown to ignore: According to the National Enquirer, via Radar, a private investigator claims to have evidence that Whitney Houston’s death in February was not just an accidental drowning but murder. By drug dealers. To whom she owed $1.5 million.
“I have evidence that points to Whitney being a victim of a high powered drug dealers who sent thugs to collect a huge debt she owed for drugs,” investigator Paul Huebl told the Enquirer, saying he was turning the evidence over to the FBI. And this evidence apparently video footage of the alleged killers entering Houston’s hotel room during the 45 minutes she was left alone before her death. She also reportedly received a cocaine delivery the day before her death, which the coroner determined was due to drowning, with cocaine use and a pre-existing heart condition as factors.
It sounds like the plot of a Coen Brothers/Quentin Tarantino movie, doesn’t it? On the one hand, we hate to turn Houston’s tragic death into something so sordid (because, it turns out, there is something more sordid than dying alone in your hotel bathtub). But on the other, we can’t help but imagine all sorts of odd scenarios that would lead up to this. How exactly would killing Houston help these dealers recoup their money? Maybe instead, they discovered that she was going to turn them over to the feds? We are still sad, but intrigued.
